Dream of £10m therapy

A CHARITY is looking to recruit an army of volunteers to help make one woman's dream come true.

TREAT Trust Wales is behind ambitious plans to develop a £10 million therapy centre in the grounds of Morriston Hospital.

It is the brainchild of Melanie Davies, who lives with husband Mike in the Swansea Valley and came up with the original idea for the centre while fighting breast cancer nearly 10 years ago.

TREAT, whose president is Hollywood star Michael Sheen, is planning to develop the centre in phases and will be seeing grants from a variety of sources.

But, in the meantime, it wants volunteers to help spread the word.

"We wanr people who will be based in the main entrance and outpatients' department at Morriston Hospital, giving out leaflets and also explaining what we are trying to achieve with the project," said Melanie, of Gellinudd.

"An enormous number of people use the hospital, and it will go a long way towards assuring them that something nice is coming."
